Testimonials
The Furrers
After investigating
general information about Milwaukee area builders, the Furrers settled on Wolter Brothers. "It took us a year and a half to find the lot we wanted
and three months to find our builder", says Patti Furrer. She and her husband,
David, built a 1950 square foot ranch, the Ashley, in Greenfield last year
(2002). They liked Wolter Brothers' willingness to make changes to the
Ashley plan that would conform to their needs. Since they were not finishing
off the lower level, they moved the stairs out of the wide open living center
and hid them with a door in the front hall. "We liked the creative style with
which we could personally design our new home", exclaims Patti. "During the
building process, we always got a same day response to our questions", adds
David. The Furrers were also impressed with Wolter Brothers' willingness
to stay in contact after they had moved in. "A subcontractor visited us well
after we had moved in, just to explain the details of our H.R.V. system (Heat
Recovery Ventilator). We are happy with the results
a healthier home
environment".
The
Cvars
When the State of
Wisconsin purchased their existing home to make way for the highway 16 bypass,
the Cvars were forced to move. Ron and Kathy Cvar decided to take a more
detailed approach to home building; they interviewed thirty builders! "Little
things matter", they agreed. They wanted a ranch with a lower level walkout and
a large commercial style kitchen (Kathy bakes for the State Fair and other
occasions) and they wanted more than five acres in which to build it.
Thankfully, the Wolter Brothers sales staff was able to supply M. L. S.
listings which helped Ron and Kathy find nine acres of beautiful wooded land
near Watertown. "We spent hours making changes to the Morningview plans so we
could have the room for our expanded kitchen equipment", says Kathy. Then we
designed our lower level walkout which includes a separate hot tub room", adds
Ron. Every day during the building process, Ron would stop by and talk with the
subcontractors. "The subs were fantastic
they kicked up a shower ceiling
and added an arch for free". Kathy agrees, "John (Atkinson, president of Wolter Brothers) would call every week and the workmanship was
impressive".
The
Wangerins
Dave and Jackie
Wangerin moved into their new Wolter Brothers home in June '03, a
Brentwood 5 ranch with an expanded mud/utility room. Since it was the third
time in which they had built with us, we thought it would be a good idea to
interview them. They built a two story in '82, a larger two story for their
growing kids in '90, and recently the Brentwood 5. "Yeah, now were empty
nesters", says Dave. "Our kids are off to college and I wanted my home office
out of the basement and onto the main floor, with big cheerful windows", he
continues. They also made changes to the utility room. Dave explains, "I was
much more involved this time around because we made a lot more changes. Donnie
at Wolter Brothers made me feel like my house was the only one being
built". What is the biggest difference in your third Wolter Brothers home? "Floors are more solid, Hardiplank siding is quieter and the overall
tightness of the house is improved", reports Dave. We hope the Wangerins build
with us again in another ten years!
