Wolter Brothers Home Builders History

A family atmosphere reigns at Wolter Brosthers Home Builders, but it's not what you might expect from a company whose name includes the word "brothers". Since 1985 the Wolter Brothers "family" has consisted of John Atkinson, Kay Richards, and Dave Ketterhagen. We are the employees who bought the firm in 1985 from brothers Ron and Gary Wolter, and have lovingly nurtured it ever since.

Ron and Gary Wolter founded the firm in 1968. For years they worked with the current owners to help it grow and become successful. They built a reputation based on value, quality craftsmanship, and personal service. When Ron and Gary decided to move on to other business ventures, we the employees banded together to continue the proud Wolter Brothers Home Builders tradition. We simply couldn't bare to see this premier home building company we had worked so hard to build simply vanish from existence.

John Atkinson, president of Wolter Brothers Home Builders, says the transition to new ownership was easy. "We were all working for them and knew the business. We had all helped build the reputation that was making Wolter Brothers Home Builders become well-known in the area, and we didn't want to let that die."

Since 1985 we have been our own little family as we have managed Wolter Brothers Home Builders together. Atkinson is president, Kay Richards is treasurer, and Dave Ketterhagen is vice president. We each have our own individual skills, which contribute to the success of each and every home our company builds.

 Wolter Brothers Home Builders has built over 3000 homes in Southeastern Wisconsin. These homes are spread all across the southeastern part of the Wisconsin map. When you think about it, all the people who live in them would make up a small village or town. That is quite a contribution to Wisconsin family living from one home builder. "We're really proud of that and the people we build for are happy with the homes we build. We have a lot of satisfied customers out there. That makes us proud too" says Atkinson.
