Frequently Asked Questions

Where does Wolter Brothers build?
Wolter Brothers will build your new home as far south as the Illinois border, as far west as Lake Mills, northwest to Horicon, or northeast to Belgium. Our southeastern Wisconsin area includes the counties of Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington, Dodge, Waukesha, Jefferson, Racine, Kenosha, Walworth, and the eastern half of Rock.

How do we get started?
Call us at our sales office (262-814-1110) or visit one of our Wolter Brothers’ models to pick up a brochure of our 58-plus unique home designs. We can assist you in selecting a home which is right for you.

What types of homes do you feature?
We feature updated home designs such as traditional ranches, split-bedroom ranches, 1 1/2 stories, or 2 stories. We also feature flexible home designs which can conform to your family’s needs.

What if we need to see a Wolter Brothers home design which is not displayed with a current model?
We have satisfied customers who are able and willing to show their Wolter Brothers home. If you cannot see what you need in our existing models, then we will arrange for a personal showing.

What do we do when we find a Wolter Brothers model we like?
Give us a call and set an appointment. Our new home consultants can help you to make out a wish list of the features you would like. We can also assist you to make any necessary changes, in order to better personalize your new home.

Can we make changes to the model which we want to build?
Yes. We understand that people have expanding needs and new ideas. Flexibility is a wonderful trademark of Wolter Brothers Builders. We can build you what you want, as long as it works. Remember that ergonomics (functional aspects) are important for you to be able to enjoy your new home on a daily basis.

Can we complete some of the construction work ourselves?
Yes. Here at Wolter Brothers, we have a long history of working well together with our clients. If you would like to do your own painting, or install your own carpeting, or handle your own staining, then we will contact you when it is time for you to complete the work. We will then wait for your confirmation that the work is complete, so that we may continue with the construction of your new home.

Do you offer lot-home packages?
Yes, we have lot-home packages in Westshore subdivision, in the lake country of Oconomowoc. We also offer lot-home packages in Minor’s Homestead subdivision, in the country setting of Mukwonago.

Do you sell your models?
Yes, we sell our models periodically, when the time is right for us to build a new one. Check out our model homes web page for more information.

Generally speaking, how do you build?
Here at Wolter Brothers, our award winning quality home construction is tailored to Wisconsin’s ever-changing weather. We “stick build” with 16” on center construction. We use durable plywood for the roof and sub-floors, and 1” Dow Styrofoam sheathing on the outer walls, including the basement walls. We also polywrap all walls and ceilings. All cabinets are custom made and Wolter Brothers is a Total Kohler home. With over 35 years of experience, our craftsmanship is second to none.

What happens if we want to add special things to our new home?
Any special additions to your home, such as Corian countertops, enhanced media rooms, or whatever your creative mind has come up with, can be included. Your new home consultant can assist you with the pricing, so spend what you wish while we complete the work. Go ahead... be innovative!
