Wolter Brothers
Awards
Milwaukee Magazine: Wolter Brothers is Best Milwaukee Area
Homebuilder (1999) and Best Mid-Priced Milwaukee Area Homebuilder (2003).
In 1999 Milwaukee Magazine completed it's first
comprehensive survey of Milwaukee area homebuilders. In 2003 they expanded
their survey to include more than 45 builders and hundreds of consumers. Just
like the Olympics, this survey will continue every four years. And just as the
Green Bay Packers won the first two Super Bowls, Wolter Brothers has won
the first two Milwaukee Magazine home building surveys! (Mid-Priced
Homes)
Here is an excerpt of the 1999 results:
Choosing a home builder is now a
lot easier thanks to Milwaukee Magazine. In the first-ever customer
survey of more than 20 home builders, Wolter Brothers earned the title: "Best Homebuilder". The article was titled "Homebuilding Heaven and
Hell" and authored by Erik Gunn. He explained why many customers believe Wolter Brothers is among the angels. One of the most common complaints
consumers had was that their builders did not correct mistakes, or were
difficult to deal with, when it came to fixing flaws.
Vicki Staeger found out she had
chosen the correct builder when a young electrician cut a gaping hole into the
custom seamless countertop in her new dream kitchen. She and her husband, Alan,
were building a split bedroom ranch in Muskego with Wolter Brothers. The
workman apologized profusely while Wolter Brothers rushed to remedy the
mistake by replacing the damaged countertop in just five days. With that kind
of action, it didn't take long for Staeger to sum up her homebuilding
experience. "It was wonderful", says the 53 year-old retiree.
That kind of concern for customers
is why Wolter Brothers triumphed over it's competition in a survey of
more than 1,500 people who have recently built homes in Milwaukee, Ozaukee,
Washington, Waukesha, Racine and Kenosha counties. The magazine asked people to
rate their home builder in ten different catagories, on a scale of one to six,
with six being the best score. Wolter Brothers' total was 57.70 out of a
possible 60 points, the highest of any builder. Wolter Brothers finished
1st in Timeliness (5.94), Adherence To Budget (5.88), Building
Contract (5.94) and Contract Adherence (5.94). We finished tied for
1st in Overall Satisfaction (5.80) and Percent Who Would Hire Again (100%), while placing near the top in every other category.
Being selected as "Best
Milwaukee Area Homebuilder" is precious to Wolter Brothers because
of who was responsible for choosing: new homeowners! Building a home is a
complex and demanding process that, as the article says, can be either heaven
or hell depending on which builder you choose. For a heavenly experience
building your new home, contact Wolter Brothers... Milwaukee area's best
builder.
Here is an excerpt of the 2003 survey:
In 2003 Milwaukee Magazine expanded it's survey to include more than 45 builders. As Matt Maroney,
executive director of the Metropolitan Builders Association explained,
it was not fair to compare a builder of half million dollar mini-mansions with
one that builds $150,000 starter homes. Wolter Brothers came in 1st among builders of mid-priced and lower-priced homes, and fourth
overall, with the top three builders all specializing in higher-priced homes
(over $300,000).
Wolter
Brothers earned it's reputation as Milwaukee's #1 mid-priced home builder
and continues to generate an enthusiastic customer following. "On the 2003
survey, Wolter Brothers construction quality scored well and it's
employees were highly responsive in the eyes of most who returned our surveys." Wolter Brothers scored higher than all other builders on comparable
priced homes in the areas of Allowances, Response After
Construction, Framing, Flooring, Electric, Plumbing, Cleanup and, of course, Overall.
"Subcontractors were excellent and
promptly fixed any post-construction concerns", said one customer. Another
stated, "Wolter Brothers made the experience almost stress-free... we
would call them anytime, which wasn't often, and they were right there to
answer questions or get something done. I would build with them in a minute!"

The 1999 Milwaukee Metropolitan Parade of Homes featured the Morningview model. This 1920 square-foot ranch includes many
desirable amenities such as three large bedrooms, two full baths with high
ceilings and a spacious three-car garage. This popular model features a
Whirlpool tub in the master bath, varying ceiling heights and a finished lower

and the living center opens up with large windows. The exterior is low
maintenance brick and aluminum siding while a large deck surrounds most of the
house. The home is pictured here.
The Morningview was a big hit with
